Battersea Arts Centre becomes the set for Sky Arts' contest.

Watching an artist create a masterpiece is my idea of heaven For a decade, I’ve absolutely adored watching a certain TV programme, one that enraptures every creative cell in my body. Ever since I can remember, I’ve drawn, scribbled and doodled on every piece of paper I could find, before discovering exciting mediums such as etching and oil painting as I got older.

How the painters are able to maintain their laser-sharp focus with cameras blocking their view, the celebrity unable to stay put in the seat and curious members of the public watching their every move is beyond me! Nonetheless, they’ve been doing just that now for an entire decade, as Portrait Artist of the Year marks the milestone of its 10th anniversary. Speaking to Metro.co.
