BBC Scotland sports news correspondentAmerican businessman Bill FoleyIt is understood he has wanted to invest in the Edinburgh club for months and has held initial talks with a view to making a non-controlling investment.Mr Foley had plans to expand a sporting franchise that already includes a Las Vegas Ice Hockey team, as well as football clubs in England, France and Australia.
The interest comes as the Scottish FA looks at relaxing the rule that bans an organisation or individual having a controlling stake in two clubs at the same time. BBC Scotland understands Mr Foley's Black Knight's sport and entertainment consortium is interested in referring players in and out of Hibs to other teams under its control, but would not be involved in the management of the club.
