A passenger has been killed and three people injured when a car crashed into a barrier on a major Victorian freeway. The driver is believed to have lost control of the car on a bend of the Princes Fwy, near John Field Dr, in Newborough, just after 3am on Tuesday.
A male passenger was killed and two other men and a woman who were also in the car have been taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries are not yet known. All eastbound lanes of the Princes Fwy have been closed between John Field Dr and Haunted Hill Rd. A diversion will be set up via Yallourn North and motorists should allow extra time if travelling through the area. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
