Going viral: why Hollywood is plagued by terminally ill teens

Teenage terminal illness: it’s so romantic, isn’t it? Apart from the dying bit. And the physical deterioration, the pain, and the medical intervention that often precedes it. But as a movie genre, it ticks so many boxes: despair, alienation, suffering, seize-the-day recklessness, inbuilt tragedy. Basically all the things teenagers experience already, minus an easy excuse to dismiss them. No wonder dying-teen movies seem to be going, er, viral right now.

I wonder if Hollywood produced films only about healthy people how soon before the G started a protest

Unlike captain marvel & wonder woman, there are real people who suffer this disease to be supported, that's what i know. So do other movies about terminally ill hooman

As plagued as they are with the gang getting together for one last heist, or the grumpy old cop who’s daughter has been kidnapped🙄 Christ, this is a lazy ‘review’. Count on one hand the amount of movies about CF .... go on, I’ll wait FiveFeetApart

Because... because they attract the morbid attention of the public!

But their hair always looks so good
