Netflix has announced their list of the Top 10 Movies in the U.S. for the week of October 16 through October 22. The controversial The Misfits has joined the list after arriving on Netflix this month. It has taken the No. 6 spot on the chart, sandwiched between the newer Netflix originals The Devil on Trial at No. 5 and Reptile at No. 7.
Pierce Brosnan's Career Hasn't Yet Recovered From The Misfits In addition to being a financial flop and a controversial release, the movie was poorly received critically as well. At the time of writing, the movie holds a perilously low Rotten Tomatoes score of 17%. The Misfits star Nick Cannon was also nominated for a Razzie for his performance, one of three nominations the movie earned. The other two were for Worst Screenplay and Worst Director.
The Misfits also kicked off a negative Pierce Brosnan Rotten Tomatoes trend. Since it was released, he hasn't had a single Fresh movie on Rotten Tomatoes. His current streak of seven Rotten movies includes The Misfits, False Positive , Cinderella , Riverdance: The Animated Adventure , The King's Daughter , Black Adam , and The Out-Laws .
Pierce Brosnan has weathered this kind of critical gauntlet before, however. His longest Rotten streak lasted for nine movies between 2013 and 2016, but he recovered with movies such as The Foreigner and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. It's possible that one of his upcoming movies can undo the poor streak kicked off by The Misfits.
