Drew Weisholtz is a reporter for TODAY Digital, focusing on pop culture, nostalgia and trending stories. He has seen every episode of “Saved by the Bell” at least 50 times, longs to perfect the crane kick from “The Karate Kid” and performs stand-up comedy, while also cheering on the New York Yankees and New York Giants.

Starring in a movie about Priscilla Presley and then watching it with her was a pretty unique experience for Jacob Elordi. Elordi plays Elvis Presley in “Priscilla,” the upcoming biopic based on Priscilla Presley’s memoir, “Elvis & Me.” “Watching the film with Priscilla in Venice was just entirely surreal and watching her watch her life through her eyes played back to her,” he told Hoda Kotb Oct. 24 on TODAY.

Of course, playing Presley means you have to master a very particular American accent. Austin Butler famously tackled the voice in his Oscar-nominated turn in the title role in last year’s “Elvis.” Elordi said nailing the accent wasn’t too much of a stretch for him. “I think I’m lucky enough that the voice kind of sits in this register for me, anyway,” he said. “I have a deep voice. I think I’ve heard every recorded word that Elvis Presley has ever said and I kind of just have it on my brain.
