Pop icon reveals near-fatal drug overdose

The 44-year-old singer made the candid admission during a tell-all interview with 60 Minutes in the US.

Pink signed a record deal with LaFace Records as part of R&B group Choice shortly after the near-fatal overdose but the singer went solo in 1998. She has also detailed her difficult childhood as the daughter of divorced parents in her music, notably with the 2001 single Family Portrait.The singer – born Alecia Moore – discussed her heart-wrenching family life in the 60 Minutes interview.

She then moved on to selling and using drugs, eventually getting kicked out of her home and dropping out of high school.
