Strictly Come Dancing fans 'gutted' as 'potential winner' withdraws from BBC competition

Strictly fans were 'gutted' after it was confirmed Amanda Abbington quit the BBC dance competition series. Many viewers reckoned Amanda and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice were 'potential winners' of the series.

Concerns Amanda may have quit the series grew after she was unable to perform on last weekend's show citing her health. Her absence was addressed at the beginning of Saturday night's show as presenter Claudia Winkleman said: “Now as you may have noticed, Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the lineup. Due to medical reasons Amanda is unable to perform this week.”
