. The December 1 theme is “Beat Street,” inspired by the 39-year-old movie that pushed hip-hop into the mainstream. MIX will celebrate 2023 as the 50th anniversary of hip-hop culture.
China’s ‘Southern Paradise’ show at Cleveland Museum of Art is an epic journey packed with revelations. They will perform a historic, tradition-based show. The night then rolls into a dance party with DJ Atomix spinning Chinese electro-club beats and popular crowd favorites. Chinese-inspired food items, cocktails, beer, and wine will be available to purchase.
For December’s MIX party, DJ Kristyles, music director at WOVU, 95.9 FM, will coordinate a hip-hop selection from the past five decades. He will be joined by DJ Eso, DJ Chicago, DJ Jack Da Rippa, DJ Chevi Red, DJ Corey Grand and DJ To have 11-year-old DJ Lily Jade perform at the 21-and-over event, MIX coordinators had to make special accommodations. Jade who was recently named toBreakdancers will demonstrate their art. Street-art-inspired baked goods will be for sale.
During both events, fees are waived to see special exhibitions “China’s Southern Paradise: Treasures from the Lower Yangzi Delta” and “Degas and the Laundress: Women, Work, and Impressionism.”If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
