Notting Hill was a huge hit when it was released in 1999 - quickly overtaking Four Weddings and a Funeral as the highest-grossing British film.It starred Hugh Grant as shy book shop owner whose world collides with a famous American actress, played by Julia Roberts. Richard said her character was based on a blend of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn - and the storyline came from an idea about a mega famous person coming into an ordinary person's life.
