A father has appeared in court for the first time after being accused of covering up his son’s alleged involvement in a high-speed crash that killed two Sydney siblings. Johnson Kokozian, 20, remains on remand on charges stemming from the deadly smash in Heckenberg on September 1. The Mercedes-Benz AMG SUV he was allegedly driving smashed head-on into a car containing siblings Alina Kauffman, 24, and Ernesto Salazar, 15, killing them both.
Police allege the father and son, together with Johnson’s 22-year-old girlfriend Tiana Savignano, discussed a cover story and made false reports to investigators following the crash. Savignano has also been charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering the police investigation. Kokozian’s friend Cruz Pamoana Davis-Tuka and another woman, Laila Moukhallaletti, have also been charged with helping to conceal the crime.
