The video introduces a college rowing team consisting of underdog students who turn to rowing for the sake of survival during one of the most challenging periods in human history. It highlights the team’s bid to win the gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin, where they’ll compete against Germany’s Nazi rowing team.
The Boys in the Boat is directed by Clooney from a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith, based on Daniel James Brown’s 2013’s novel of the same name.
