Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams is thrilled by the effect the show is having on his “shredded” body and can’t wait to flaunt it on the dance floor. The Bad Education actor has been taunting his dance partner Nikita Kuzmin with his rippling abs and says he’s never looked better – even if rehearsals leave him shattered.
Layton’s growing body confidence has also boosted his mood, giving him a buzz. “When you feel happy and healthy inside, it gives you that little glow, and sweating it out, it’s endorphins, isn’t it?” he says. “It feels good to just have mind, body and soul in check.” Most fans are polite but as a gay Black man, Layton has suffered both homophobic and racist abuse on his social media channels in the past.
“I ask for more money so I can pay for a therapist,” he says. “I know I am going to have to get to Harley Street. I will have to have three sessions of therapy so I will book it myself.” Layton tries to travel incognito using hats and sunglasses, but some people recognise he is famous, although often they mistake him for Strictly professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
