A former paramedic has revealed the three unexpected household items she always keeps in her home. Nikki Jurcutz, who worked as a paramedic for eight years with Ambulance Victoria, said she always has honey, hair removal cream and cling wrap on hand to prepare herself in the event a common situation leads to an emergency. “These unexpected items could save your child,” she said. Honey Nikki said there’s always a supply of honey in her pantry in case of an accidental button battery swallowing.
“If the tourniquet doesn’t appear too deep and there isn’t damage to the skin, you can try this treatment,” she said. Apply a small amount of hair removal cream to the area and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water. If hair remains wrapped, take your child to the emergency department immediately. Cling wrap After completing first aid on a burn, Nikki said the area should be covered with cling wrap to protect against further damage.
