An Elizabethtown College student is raising a future service dog on campus. In this week's On the Bright Side, we show you the pilot program.

Larry Rapp, 64, had previously pleaded guilty to charges relating to the Dec. 3, 2022 crash that killed 41-year-old Chad Rapp.

Rapp admitted he was drunk and high when he crashed his white Ford Bronco on Prospect Road in West Hempfield Township, according to the case laid out by Assistant District Attorney Todd Brown.West Hempfield Township Police were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Prospect Road and observed heavy front-end damage with the defendant extricated from the driver’s seat and receiving treatment from EMS.

Officers and EMS reported a heavy odor of alcohol coming from the defendant and an executed search warrant for a blood sample showed the defendant’s BAC at 0.22%, nearly three times over the legal limit.
