Hundreds of people lined MacLeod Trail in Calgary's downtown over the weekend to show their solidarity with Palestine. Many waved flags, hoisted signs and chanted for Palestine to be liberated.

For the second day in a row, pro-Palestine supporters gathered in front of Calgary city hall on Sunday to protest ongoing airstrikes by Israel’s military – attacks that are in retaliation to the Hamas terrorist ambush on Oct. 7.

Sunday’s gathering was the third pro-Palestine rally in Calgary in the last week, after similar events were held downtown last Monday and Saturday. Khaled claimed that Israel has controlled all aspects of life in Gaza for nearly 50 years, including the movement of food, water, electricity and fuel. Those have all been cut off in the last week in response to Hamas’ attack.Khaled also claimed the type of violence seen in Israel last weekend is “a daily reality” for Palestinians.
