Dublin Murders is one of 2019's most eagerly-anticipated shows and we've been treated to a new trailer that leans heavily on the gore

Yep, the dark months are now ahead of us and on that note, it’s apt that the latest trailer for the TV adaptation of Tana French’s internationally bestselling Dublin Murder Squad novels has arrived.Anyway, a few weeks ago, RTÉ announced that they will be showing the crime drama as part of their new programming schedule and we’ve had ourhave been focused on the Love/Hate reunion of Killian Scott and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, but the drama has plenty more going for it.

For example, Sarah Greene has established herself as one of the best Irish actors around and the show also boasts the likes of Moe Dunford, Ian Kenny, and Conleth Hill in supporting roles too. Based on Tana French’s novels The Likeness and In the Woods, the show is set in the early years of the new millennium, during the height of Ireland’s Celtic Tiger financial boom. The plot focuses on two seemingly unrelated murder investigations led by ambitious and charismatic detectives Reilly and Maddox.

The victims – a young talented ballerina who is found dead on an ancient stone altar and a vivacious free-spirited woman who is found stabbed in a roofless famine cottage – are seemingly unrelated, but as viewers will discover, they’re knitted together by powerful shared themes. At present, no official premiere date has been set by BBC or RTÉ – the BBC’s trailer below states that it will be released in October – but here’s a look at what’s in store.
