MOVIE REVIEW: We try to put the pieces together in horror prequel Saw X

Following Jigsaw and Spiral’s unsuccessful attempts to take the Saw franchise in other directions with new blood, Tobin Bell’s John Kramer is back to impose his brand of violent justice.

With it being a prequel shot 18 years after its immediate timeline predecessor, naturally there are a few aesthetic hitches; Kramer’s illness just about lets Bell away with it but a bad wig can’t hide Shawnee Smith’s returning Amanda’s advancing years.

Much like Saw VI , the film takes jabs at healthcare and the way it preys on people’s emotions and finances, adding depth to the gruesome gore.
