Horror icon 'Jigsaw' finally gets the spotlight as back to basics approach works well in return to form for franchise.

Following Jigsaw and Spiral’s unsuccessful attempts to take the Saw franchise in other directions with new blood, Tobin Bell’s John Kramer is back to impose his brand of violent justice.

The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.But by making Bell the star of the show for the first time, the creative team finally emphasise the series’ most compelling character. With it being a prequel shot 18 years after its immediate timeline predecessor, naturally there are a few aesthetic hitches; Kramer’s illness just about lets Bell away with it but a bad wig can’t hide Shawnee Smith’s returning Amanda’s advancing years.

Much like Saw VI , the film takes jabs at healthcare and the way it preys on people’s emotions and finances, adding depth to the gruesome gore.
