Holly Willoughby’s departure from ITV’s ‘This Morning’ has left a huge vacancy in daytime television but there are a number of possible candidate lined-up to fill the rolefor the 42-year-old and the show following the dramatic departure in May of her long-time co-host of the programme Phillip Schofield after he admitted to a relationship with a younger male former colleague.
Alison Hammond is hot favourite to take on the permanent This Morning presenting role she started off as a showbusiness reporter before co-hosting with Dermot O’Leary on Fridays and more recently stepping in after Schofield’s departure. The formerhousemate, she became an OK! TV presenters after leaving the show. Since 2019 the 38-year-old has been a presenter onbeginning as a competition announcer and then becoming a relief presenter when Willoughby was away.
