A Logan man has died in hospital 12 days after he was allegedly king hit then “struck multiple times” while he lay on the ground. The 61-year-old man was in Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital after the alleged attack in Park Ridge South on September 29. He died in the hospital on Tuesday. A 33-year-old man was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm the day after the incident.
Police have alleged the victim was punched in the head, causing him to fall onto the ground. He was then “allegedly struck multiple times”, police said in a statement. The alleged violence had followed a “verbal altercation” between the men, police said. The younger man, from Park Ridge South, is due to appear in Beaudesert Magistrates Court on November 28. Police are yet to determine if the accused man’s charges will be upgraded. An investigation continues.
