A mum-of-two who fought against time to stay alive - after she was given just months to live with cancer - has died at 37. Emma Gorrick, from Sydney, forked out $350,000 to prolong her life with metastatic breast cancer so she could have more time with her husband Dave and their kids - seven-year-old daughter, Mya, and son Ryan, aged four.
“Due to my condition worsening of late... all these treatments that cost an arm and half a leg are what has kept me here. “It has been over two years since doctors told me I had four months to live.” She was experiencing debilitating symptoms - including dizzy spells, mini blackouts, constant nausea and vomiting - leaving her bedridden for most of the day. The mum was constantly struggling with “excruciating levels” of chronic pain, and it has “severely impacted” her quality of life.
