Alleged $2.1m Fraud: EFCC Re-Arraigns Ex-NHIS Boss, One Other – Channels Television

Updated March 8, 2019The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re-arraigned a former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme , Dr Oluwafemi Thomas.

Both men were charged with amended seven counts bordering on money laundering to the tune of $2,198,900.00. One of the counts read: “That you , Dr Martins Oluwafemi Thomas , a former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, and Mrs Femi Thomas on or about the 3rd of July 2015, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, procured Bamidele Ibitoye to remove from the Lagos jurisdiction the sum of $2,198, 900.
