At an immersive, city-wide multimedia presentation of her new album When I Get Home, the singer-songwriter explains how her childhood home of Houston nourished her creative spirit

‘It’s one thing to think with your spirit,” says Solange Knowles. “It’s another to actually live it through your body.” The Solange of today works with feelings, grooves, and frequencies in mind. If A Seat at the Table, her breakthrough third album, was a lyrically dense record about the complexities and struggles of the black American experience, then When I Get Home, her latest release, is the sonic manifestation of that blackness.

Who said blackness would ever go away? Can we stop with this crap already...smh. What if Taylor Swify said 'whiteness will never go away'....I mean, seriously, they have time to think this ridiculous shit up? Nobody said they wanted blackness to go away and if they did, fuk em.

Unless of course there's a massive nuclear war then we all go away.

You don’t have to be black to take pride in your roots, I’m a white man and I have my roots done every 3 weeks.

READ FIRST: I knew it was clickbait 😏 if you read the article, she says this in reference to HERSELF, not society. She picks inspiration and ideas from different areas of Houston that are relevant to black people and so she says the blackness doesn't go away bec it's part of her

Shame 😂

Does that mean another rise in knife crime? I'm confused.

But you still prefer to be white no doubt

The ting goes skrrrahh, pap, pap, ka-ka-ka Skidiki-pap-pap, and a pu-pu-pudrrrr-boom Skya, du-du-ku-ku-dun-dun Poom, poom, you dun know. Well what a shame

Someone said it might go away?

How black will she be when Whites have been expunged from the earth tho

Can you imagine the response if for example Sting stood up and said 'whiteness will never go away'!!!

Now do Whiteness.
