Multiple New Zealand radio stations have stopped playing Michael Jackson’s music amid damning allegations aired in HBO documentary Leaving Neverland.

The country’s two major commercial radio companies, MediaWorks and NZME, have announced they will not be playing the singer’s music.

MediaWorks released a statement saying, 'We aren't deciding whether Michael Jackson is guilty of paedophilia, we're just making sure our radio stations are going to play the music people want to hear’. The documentary centres around accusations from Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who allege the star abused them after befriending them when they were children.

GemmaTognini Great work Gemma, you articulated what many of us have been screaming.

GemmaTognini Rolf Harris comes to mind I still love the song “ when we where two little boys” about courage and mates.

GemmaTognini Is this to set a precedent for all the 21 Century Fox paedos?

GemmaTognini Well, well. Hitler was an artist. Really was. He painted. Why don't you promote and admire his paintings? So people should enjoy a rapists' music because we must separate the man from his work. WTF

GemmaTognini Triple J wont play Sticky Fingers despite them being backed up by witnesses who dispute Thelma Plums version of events. There's pathetic virtue signaling by a govt funded radio station....

GemmaTognini Gemma do you think the work of cardinal Pell and his crime I have an opinion but would like to hear yours

GemmaTognini So true Gemma. I do that with Jimmy Saville. Do you as well?

GemmaTognini The character assassination of a dead man based on rumours and it’s working? These days anyone, dead or alive can be smashed by unfounded untested allegations. In the future it’ll just be a race as to who can allege first.

GemmaTognini That's all fine, and completely true and correct, and I'm fine with others continuing to listen to his music. But I've changed the radio station for years when they play it, and will continue to do so. That's my choice. RitaPanahi

GemmaTognini Appreciate the music not the sinner...

GemmaTognini His innocent never proven guilty

GemmaTognini Don’t agree. Nobody’s talking about not being able to access their music, they’re just not ‘promoting’ it. Big difference.

GemmaTognini Funny how the same RWNJs on here defend the man pell publicity but want to separate now, soooooo many splinters from the conservatives constantly jumping the fence

GemmaTognini So should we ban any institution where child abuse has occurred?

GemmaTognini What a load of shit

GemmaTognini There goes Rolf’s Spotify playlist.

GemmaTognini Has MJ been found guilty in a court of any crime? no. It use to be that the judiciary system decided guilt or not. Seems now an accusation, if supported by social media, media and Oprah decide guilt. Not an MJ fan but a huge fan of natural justice. scarytimes

GemmaTognini They should ban Neverland documentary, I will always be listen MichaelJackson songs, Australia and New Zealand got very racist government, they think they are white country, don’t forget where you come from! The good thing I don’t listen the radio at all 👌🏼

GemmaTognini Now do the Catholic Church.

GemmaTognini Not when playing their work lines their pockets more!

GemmaTognini Most radio stations no longer play Rolf Harris and Gary Glitter. This has been happening for sometime now. The stations don't want to lose advertising revenue if someone complains they are playing that music.

GemmaTognini Anyone with a functioning brain can do this easily. Shocked to hear people in radio in 2019 don't have them, truly.
