They’re beat down, bruised and hanging on the ropes, though.

And whoever was left? What optimism can possibly remain after the way they played in Saturday evening‘s 22-15 loss to the host Hamilton Tiger-Cats? The receiving corps was decimated by injury all season. It didn’t help that Reggie Begelton took a hard knock early in the game in Hamilton and it’s hard to blame the guys who were out there, but it just hasn’t clicked this year.

Other critics will point to the play-calling, which seems set on short tosses behind the line of scrimmage that rarely result in big gains. How can you not look at Lemon’s seven sacks for the playoff-bound Alouettes and Folarin Orimolade’s seven for the first-place Toronto Argonauts and wonder how much better the Stamps might have been with either of those guys back in Red & White and helping from the outside as Mike Rose and Derek Wiggan attacked.
