Disney Animation Studios' Jennifer Lee says she will bring up an animated Tron movie next time she and other directors are pitching ideas.

, Lee was asked if an animated Tron movie could ever see the light of day. Lee revealed she and a number of other Walt Disney Animation Studios directors regularly meet to discuss ideas and said she’d bring it up next time they’re all together.

“I will promise to do it at my next directors’ lunch. Once a month, I just have lunch with all the directors together, and I’m gonna say, ‘There has been a request. Is there anyone here, who has been dreaming of that to happen?’ We’re filmmaker-driven, so then I can blame them, if it doesn’t happen. No, I’m teasing…I’m gonna write that down and bring that to them. Unfairly, I haven’t done that yet, so I will. I love that.

, Bruce Boxleitner, and David Warner. While not a major box office hit at the time, it has since developed a cult following and went on to inspire several video games, comics, and more.

Disney’s next animated film has a trailer showing off its blend of animation styles.Wish is meant to blend modern CGI animation with the gorgeous watercolor animation Disney was originally known for. That should make it similar looking to films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Those are gorgeously animated films with the latter looking like a hand drawn book brought to three-dimensional life. Wish definitely has more of a Frozen vibe than that, but you can see sparks of that blended animation in a few moments...in between clips of a goat talking about its butt.
