ABC South West: Roxanne TaylorThe leaders of Western Australia's livestock owners and producers have called on their members to show restraint after tensions between animal activists and farmers reached new levels this week, seeing two protestors charged with trespass.
It followed a public meeting held in Harvey on Thursday where WA Police Regional Commander Alan Adams asked livestock producers to exercise restraint and not get drawn into conflict with protestors. At the latest meeting, held at the headquarters of WA Farmers in Belmont, police offered guidelines on how to handle people coming onto properties and what constituted trespass.WA Farmers dairy section president Michael Partridge addressed the Harvey meeting.
