The flagship morning show dramatically pulled the footage three minutes in when Huw appeared

A BBC Breakfast presenter had to apologise this morning when footage of Huw Edwards was aired by mistake.

He has not appeared on television since presenting the BBC News on July 5th. However, this morning Huw was seen on BBC One fronting a report about Hurricane Maria before the clip cut back to presenter Ben Thompson in the Breakfast studio. The mistake was not missed by fans of the show at home with many taking to social media to share their confusion, reported the Mirror.

Another commented: "Oh god how awkward - cut it off just as Huw came on." While a third teased: "BBC loves a repeat, doesn't it!"Director General Tim Davie said the corporation is conducting a fact-finding mission looking at claims against its best-known newsreader, after two police forces concluded Edwards had no criminal case to answer.
