A former president of the Nigerian Bar Association , Dr Olisa Agbakoba, has appealed to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party , Atiku Abubakar, to accept the outcome of the presidential election.
He explained that the voting pattern for the poll showed that ethnicity played a significant role in the exercise.The former NBA President said he understood the grievance of the opposition party but a lot needed to be done in reforming the nation’s politics and the electoral process. The voting pattern for the 2019 Presidential Election shows ethnicity played a significant role in the Election. President Muhammadu Buhari kept his base in the North while former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar largely held his base in the South.
I understand the PDP is aggrieved about the outcome of the Election and alleged massive irregularities. But I urge former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar not to approach the Election Petition Tribunal. There is also a lot of work to be done in both political and electoral reforms. I request former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar to step into the shoes.
I beg to differ learned silk. Not when the evidence of over voting, under age voting etc is awash on the media space. Let him challenge this for the sake of posterity

I don't understand Agbakoba. Is it now a crime to vote someone from your ethnic group? As long as it is your choice and as long as that choice is allowed to count, i do not see a problem there.

If am were Atiku I would just acceptthe results with good faith and focus on the year 2023 bcos last Saturday's election was free,fair and credible as testified by coalition of 18 observer groups who scored inec and security agencies 80% because they did their job professionally.

Yes I concur, let him not go to the tribunal. Buhari imposed CJN would not allow the case to fly. No federal institutions or agencies are working again in Nigeria. EFCC is busy harassing political opponents. Security agencies are nothing to write home about.
