6 Real Closure On Jeff’s Dad Jeff’s troubled relationship with his absent father gave his cynical characterization some depth. In season 2’s “Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking,” the supposedly-dying Pierce overplayed his hand by offering Jeff the opportunity to meet his dad, and the episode “Advanced Gay” saw Jeff give a vivid speech about the responsibilities of fatherhood to Pierce’s dad.
