Hugh Jackman, 54, has announced his split from his wife of 27 years Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, in an emotional joint statement.
"We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth," the couple said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. "We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
The news comes just months after the couple celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in April, with the actor sharing a gushing tribute to his wife.Hugh and Deborra first met in 1995 while filming an Australian TV show. The X-Men star has previously said that he was drawn to her due to her confidence during their first interaction.
