After coming face-to-face with Earth-838's Illuminati, learning about variant versions of himself, and battling the Darkhold-corrupted Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange was met in New York City by a purple-clad figure in Multiverse of Madness' post-credits scene. Although not named in the film, Charlize Theron debuted as the MCU's Clea, adapted from Marvel Comics' niece of Dormammu, Earth's new Sorcerer Supreme, and love-interest and eventual wife of Doctor Strange.
Clea's 12 Cut MCU Costumes All Avoid A Superhero Suit Issue The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: The Art of the Movie book has revealed concept art from the film that shines a light on many alternate designs for the film's primary characters. Concept art featuring the Scarlet Witch tells the story of a much darker and more twisted villain, but Clea was also put front and center, with twelve alternate designs being revealed for the MCU's new hero.
Close As more and more heroes have been introduced to the MCU, many have criticized Marvel Studios for putting its characters in very similar-looking costumes. Most of the MCU's heroes' suits are made from a similar material, have some sort of shoulder pad, and feature lined designs over the torso, arms, and legs, and Clea is no exception. If any of these twelve pieces of concept art were used for Clea's costume, this could have actually given a new hero a completely original design.
Why The Multiverse Saga's Future Means The MCU Needs To Solve Its Suit Issue The fact that many superhero suits are similar may not currently be too much of an issue, but as the Multiverse Saga continues to unfold, this is only going to become a more obvious problem.
