Shekarau Defeats Sani-Madawakingini As APC Sweeps Kano Senatorial Race – Channels Television

Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Kano as the elected Senator for Kano Central District.

The former governor of Kano contested for the seat under the All Progressive Congress, beating PDP’s Aliyu Sani-Madawakingini. The Returning Officer for the district, Prof. Adamu Alhaji-Samaila before announcing the winner, informed that Shekarau scored 506, 271 votes to defeat the PDP’s candidate, Aliyu Sani-Madawakingini who polled 276, 768 votes.Below is a breakdown of the results from Kano.1. KANO CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT:-Kabiru Gaya, APC: 319,004 VOTES-Barau Jibrin, APC: 286,419 VOTES
