SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Star Wars has confessed in Ahsoka episode 5 that the involvement of a character from The Mandalorian is purely fan service. With Ahsoka running concurrently to The Mandalorian season 3, there have been plenty of opportunities for characters from the hit series to make an appearance in Ahsoka's journey. So far, only one notable character from The Mandalorian has crossed this bridge, and he used his X-wing to do so.
Carson Teva joined the cast of Ahsoka in episode 4, and while it wasn't too surprising, it also threw some people off. Carson made his Star Wars debut in The Mandalorian season 2 and has since become a recurring character, typically as a friendly kind of thorn in Din Djarin's side.
Carson Teva In Ahsoka Doesn't Really Make Sense, And The Show Knows It Ahsoka was previously said to be happening concurrently with The Mandalorian season 3, though in the latter, Carson is still stationed at the Adelphi Base in the Outer Rim. For him to go all the way to Home One and then Seatos with Hera doesn't really make sense, as it takes him far away from the responsibilities he had in The Mandalorian.
It May Be Fan Service, But Carson Teva In Ahsoka Still Works Fan service, however, isn't always bad - and it still works in this series. While it may be confusing for the overall timeline, Carson can work as a bridge between the events of Ahsoka and The Mandalorian, eventually tying them together in what will likely become the story of Dave Filoni's upcoming The Mandalorian movie.
