The restaurant, hotel and grocery industries are stepping up with fundraisers to benefit victims of the Lahaina wildfire disaster. Here’s a running list of ways to help.Rapper Lyrics Born and Top Chef’s Nelson German will collaborate on a Thursday, Sept. 14, pop-up from 5 to 10 p.m. at German’s alaMar Dominican Kitchen, 100 Grand Ave., Oakland. All proceeds from the sales of their dish, Locrio Japonese, will to go the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund.
These grocery stores will facilitate contributions at the checkout stand and print the amount on each receipt so that customers have a record of their tax-deductible donation. Collectively the stores will match up to $10,000 of customer donations. Funds will go to the Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund.During the month of September, the Itani Ramen restaurant in Oakland will sell Spam Musubi for $5, with all proceeds donated to Maui wildfire relief.
