The much loved presenter will step back from RTÉ's Today show in mid November as she goes on maternity leave - she also opens up about turning 40 this week as she shuns big party

She and her husband Conor Kirwan have kept the sex of the baby a surprise as they give their two-and-a-half year daughter Indie a little brother or sister.

"I was pregnant with Indie when I started on Today and I did September to March on air that season. I was meant to come back in September 2021, but I took extended maternity leave until January 2022. "It is a nice way to see the last few weeks of pregnancy. Although I could do without the 'What am I going to wear?' dilemma."

"That changes week on week. I am not going to complain though, I am delighted to be in this position." "For me, I would rather not know because I don’t care either way. I am hoping for a healthy baby, that is all I want."We don’t have a preference. I don’t need to plan or know in advance. There are so few surprises in the world and that’s one of the lovely ones."If it is a girl, I don’t want to panic choose because you could regret it. It is such a huge thing to name a human and you want to get it right.
