Speaking from his hospital bed in Bantry, Co Cork, Bailey said he was still feeling very weak after suffering two heart attacks last week - that he now attributes to a lifetime of stress, having been repeatedly accused of the infamous 1996 murder in Schull. “I’ve not had anything like it. It’s quite painful across the chest and you’re not quite sure what’s happening to you. Fortunately I’m in the best possible hands,” he said.
“Yeah. Because you don’t quite know what’s happening to you. I’d not been feeling very well prior to it and looking back I think I was experiencing a kind of pre-heart attack.”
