Haris Zambarloukos: Oh, that's a tricky question, Joseph, but yes, I'll try and answer as best as I can. He really loves Agatha Christie, these novels, and this character. He studied them meticulously, and I think this was a wonderful film to make in that it was a more unknown film. An unknown story by Christie. It hasn't been interpreted as a film in the past. It's an adaptation of Hallowe'en Party.
How A Darker Crime Can Elevate The Horror In A Haunting In Venice Poirot returns once again in A Haunting In Venice when an old acquaintance pulls him out of retirement to attend a séance at a haunted house on Halloween night. The iconic detective is, of course, trying to prove that the medium hosting the séance is a fraud, but when someone is murdered, he'll need to solve the crime while strange events in the house force him to open his mind to paranormal possibilities.
The other possibility is that the killer is pulling the strings to bring horror to the house that Poirot is trapped in during A Haunting In Venice. This could mean that they are actively trying to fool him, which could explain the paranormal element of the movie. However, it's also possible that the ambiance, Halloween Night, superstition, and a supposedly haunted house are messing with his thinking in the new movie.
