She made a huge name for herself in the 90s, but one-fifth of legendary 90s band Steps decided to swap her glitzy showbiz career to be a school headteacher as she relocated to Dubai with her family a decade ago.
In 2011, she and her husband, West End star Johnny Shentall, emigrated to Dubai with their two children, Jaden and Star-Lily. At the time of the relocation, the VIP couple had only planned to stay in the UAE city for two years. It quickly became clear, however, that Dubai's gorgeous Palm Jumeirah – where Lisa had found refuge after the difficult break-up of Steps – was destined to be her family's 'forever home'.
The Tragedy singer has also said that the Middle Eastern country's warm climate and friendly culture has been a major bonus when it comes to her quality of life as an expat. "I’m a sucker for a blue sky," she revealed, before adding, "The Dubai community has been so welcoming." Lisa, who also attended stage school, has gushed about her passion for the academy and its talented pupils on a number of occasions in the past. “I know every child’s name and all the parents' names, too," she revealed. "Johnny’s not as hot on the names, but he’s getting better.”
