Shot on Staten Island, which is described in the film as a socially and aesthetically marginalized neighborhood of NYC, it follows the struggle of Alvin, a young man just out from prison, after serving a two years sentence, looking to find himself again.Alvin’s tense relationship with his absent and troubled mother weighs on him and forces him to reconnect with the world that brought him to prison and that he has desperately been trying to avoid in order to remake his life.
“I wanted to make a film about second chances and the challenges they bring. These challenges appear at different stages in the story and are interwoven with its multiple narratives,” Torrent explained.
