Pee-wee Herman actor Paul Reuben's tragic cause of death has now been confirmed, after the much loved actor sadly died back in July following a private but gruelling health battle

Paul Reubens' cause of death had officially been confirmed, after the much loved Pee-wee Herman star passed away aged 70 in July.

While announcing his death earlier this year, a statement made by Paul’s loved ones explained how he had ”bravely and privately fought cancer for years", which came as a surprise to many at the time. They state: "Acute leukaemia means it progresses quickly and aggressively, and usually requires immediate treatment. Acute leukaemia is classified according to the type of white blood cells affected."

At the end of July, when Paul's death was officially announced to his devastated fans, the statement posted on his Instagram page read: "Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness.

In an especially heartbreaking move, the post also shared a photograph of Paul alongside a note he had penned before his death.
