The Ohio State Marching Band paid tribute to 1973-- the year in which women first joined the band-- with their halftime show during Ohio State's game against Youngstown State.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State Marching Band returned to Ohio Stadium to start the new season, as did the Alumni Band.

The band played female-empowerment anthems such as Carole King’s “A Natural Woman,’ Taylor Swift’s, “Shake It Off,” Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want To Have Fun,” Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and Katy Perry’s “Roar.”
