The famed Air Show is returning this weekend on Southport's seafront. Over the two days, the exciting schedule includes BBMF Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane, RAF Typhoon, Slingsby T-67 Firefly and Spitfire - Rolls Royce.
The Red Arrows are among the many aircraft set to take to the skies on Saturday. Tickets are still available for the event with children under 16 going free - they must be accompanied by an adult.But people in other areas of Merseyside should be able to catch a surprise glimpse of the Red Arrows as they fly from their base at RAF Waddingham to Blackpool Airport on Friday, September 8. The Journey will take around 30 minutes and will pass over a number of areas in the city.
The jets will stay at Blackpool Airport before appearing at Southport Air Show on Saturday, September 9. According to Military Airshows, the jets will pass over Parbold at around 4.19pm on Friday, September 8, before heading towards Rainford at 4.20pm. They will then fly along side the M57 near Huyton and Prescot at 4.21pm before heading towards Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
The jets will then head down the Mersey from Speke towards Formby between 4.22pm and 4.25pm before landing at Blackpool airport at around 4.29pm. Timings and routes may change due to weather or other requirements.
