The show gained viral attention when it first aired

The BBC's flagship Sunday morning programme has reportedly lost nearly a million viewers since a change of presenter last year. Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg returned to BBC One this weekend ahead of Parliament's return on Monday, September 4.

Guests included Chancellor Jeremy Hunt and presenter Piers Morgan, but The Sunday Times is reporting that the hour-long programme has lost 700,000 viewers since Andrew Marr's departure from the BBC. The Andrew Marr Show occupied the slot now held by Laura Kuenssberg, with the broadcaster now serving as a presenter on LBC Radio and political editor of the New Statesman magazine.

That compares to the 1.9 million viewers that The Andrew Marr Show used to attract on average. Laura Kuenssberg previously served as the BBC's political editor before taking over from Marr.
