ITV hosts Andi Peters and Rochelle Humes confirmed Holly's return date on Friday's show.

It’s been confirmed that Holly Willoughby will return to This Morning on Monday and she’ll be joined by a familiar face.

Alison, the new co-host of Great British Bake Off, has had a bumper year despite the ongoing issues at This Morning and is the only presenter from the show up for a National Television Award. She’ll be continuing her Friday slot with Dermot O’Leary, while Holly will lead the show from Monday - Thursday.

Holly described her brief acting stint on the show as a "dream come true" and said she had "loved every second".
