The 30-year-old has already proved he’s got the chops for the job as a regular on the BBC show, and his efforts have been recognised with the position.
Alex Jones, 46, will remain as the consistent host on every episode of the weekday show, whilst Roman and Jermaine Jenas, 40, will job share. Sharing his joy at the job Roman said: ‘I’m very excited to become a permanent presenter on The One Show – I have had so much fun filming with the team already over the past year on the sofa.
‘It’s a dream come true to be on primetime BBC One, bringing the best topical news and entertainment to the nation.’will be doing fewer shows. The 46-year-old explained why he’d be stepping back in a statement: ‘I’ll be doing less shows this year due to my performing and recording schedule but I’m still very much part of the family and wish Roman the best of luck.’Those are not the only changes – Desert Island Discs presenter Lauren Laverne has been given a ‘regular spot on the sofa’.
Roman, the son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, is certainly busy and booked as he also also a longstanding gig at Capital FM presenting their breakfast radio show alongside Sian Welby,
