Blackpool theatre-goers face being banned from singing along when The Bodyguard UK touring production comes to town in the autumn. Audiences attending the Newcastle leg of the tour were asked to follow a series of rules, including singing along out loud and no 'rattling sweet wrappers'.
The current run of the show opened at Newcastle's Theatre Royal on August 15 and, just before the curtain call, an audience announcement was made, reports the Chronicle. The warning said: "To keep you safe during the performance, The Bodyguard has asked that you remain quiet, refrain from rattling sweet wrappers and to definitely NOT sing along to the show."The musical based on blockbuster film The Bodyguard is coming to Blackpool's Opera House in November.
Theatre fans can follow the romantic and drama-filled story of Secret Service agent turned bodyguard Frank, who is hired to protect Rachel, a worldwide superstar. Love sparks and fizzes between the pair, coupled with a fair amount of heartbreak, tragedy and breath-taking moments.
