Activate your Online Access Now“It was actually the last award to be announced, so during the entire ceremony I was sitting there thinking ‘can we just get this over with’ because I was a bit nervous because I might win, I might not.”“I was born in Saskatchewan, I grew up in Saskatchewan, and I left the province for quite a few years when I was in my late teens, early 20s when I went to university in Vancouver, and then I spent a couple of years in Europe,” he said.

“My dad was maybe a little bit frustrated with me missing work at the peak of the harvest, but the fact that I won the award kind of forgives me retroactively.”Article content “I had never seen a film from Myanmar in my life before, this was my first time ever seeing a film from that country,” he said.

“We’re a small community in Saskatchewan, but sometimes I’m kind of surprised by how disconnected we are, so I hope the filmmaking communities in Regina, Saskatoon and elsewhere can really be more interconnected and really start making films together.”
