Swarms of fans lined an Irish coastal road to bid farewell to Sinéad O'Connor ahead of her funeral this afternoon.
More than 300 have arrived so far to Bray's seafront. Train services into Bray are "significantly busier than normal" ahead of the funeral cortege in the town. And at 12:07 the hearse arrived at Sinéad's former home, to thunderous applause from her fans, with some throwing flowers atop the vehicle. The procession then continued along the seafront, where it is expected to head to the private burial.
“The Irish people have long found solace in song from the sufferings of this lower abode, and Sinead was no exception, and in sharing that solace, she brought joy to countless people the world over.” "The unique contribution of Sinéad involved the experience of a great vulnerability combined with a superb, exceptional level of creativity that she chose to deliver through her voice, her music and her songs.
