Sinéad O’Connor, the 'Nothing Compares 2 U' singer, was laid to rest in Ireland as thousands of fans and mourners gathered in her hometown of Bray, County Wicklow. After a private memorial service, her cortege passed by her former home in a vintage VW van, with Bob Marley's song 'Natural Mystic' playing from the hearse.

Thousands of fans and mourners roped around the streets of her hometown of Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland.

As her casked was driven down the avenues, sobs could be heard throughout the large crowds as some clapped, cheered and poured flowers onto her coffin.The mobs of fans also included children who held onto teddy bears and some people donned Irish hats, scarves and flags, banners, dogs and musical instruments as they watched the procession pass by.

A hearse carrying the coffin of O’Connor passes outside her former home during her funeral procession.The country’s Prime Minister Leo Varadkar as well as the Irish President Michael D. Higgins were in attendance at the burial service. Musicians Bob Geldof and U2’s Bono and The Edge also made appearances.
